Our Transfusion Medicine and Blood Bank department is staffed by a dedicated team of experts including:

Immunohematology

  • Our immunohematologists excel in understanding blood group systems, compatibility testing, and antibody detection.


  • They provide expert opinions on complex transfusions, including massive and incompatible transfusions, and the use of specialized blood products (e.g., irradiated blood, leukodepleted, washed blood products).


Quality Assurance in Transfusion Medicine

  • Our quality assurance experts ensure the safety, quality, and effectiveness of blood transfusion services.


  • They monitor processes, implement best practices, and uphold high standards to prevent errors and adverse events.


Apheresis

  • Our apheresis specialists perform procedures that separate blood components such as plasma, platelets, or white blood cells from a donor or patient.


  • Therapeutic apheresis applications include plasma exchange, red cell exchange, therapeutic platelet apheresis, and therapeutic leukapheresis.


Hemovigilance

  • Hemovigilance professionals track and analyze adverse events related to blood transfusions.

Therapeutic Apheresis using Advanced Apheresis Technology


  • Stem Cell Harvesting: From peripheral blood for conditions such as premalignant disorders (MDS), blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma), and benign conditions (thalassemia major, sickle cell disease, primary immunodeficiency).


  • Stem Cell Preservation: Using DMSO & Albumin, stored at -80°C.
